The World's Highest-Paid TV Actresses 2016: Sofia Vergara Stays The Queen Of The Small Screen With $43 Million

Sofia Vergara tops the list of the highest-paid TV actresses for the fifth year running, with her biggest take yet of $43 million. TV is often said to be in its golden age. Audiences have a wealth of quality content to choose from, be it from broadcast television, cable networks or a streaming service. But does that translate into gold for those on screen? For Sofia Vergara, it sure does. For the fifth year in a row, the Colombian actress tops our list of the world’s highest-paid TV actresses, bringing in $43 million in the 12 months to June before management fees and taxes, which is also more than any TV actor made.
Actress Sofia Vergara has topped Forbes magazine’s annual list of best paid television actresses for the fifth year in a row, earning a whopping US$43 million. The 44-year-old Modern Family actress — who made more money than any male star — was followed on the list by Kaley Cuoco, 30, who plays Penny on The Big Bang Theory and earned US$24.5 million in the 12 months to June. Vergara previously tied for first with Kaley Cuoco in 2015 for $28.5 million. This year, the Big Bang Theory star came in second with $24.5 million. Quantico’s leading lady Priyanka Chopra (No. 8) earned $11 million, and Castle’s Stana Katic (No. 7) banked $12 million.
Last month, Forbes revealed that Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence was Hollywood’s highest-paid movie actress for the second year in a row with $46 million.
